Marines from the Corps' "Oldest Post," Marine Barracks Washington, march for the 55th Presidential Inauguration to honor the re-election of President George W. Bush. The Inauguration is a time-honored military tradition of providing military ceremonial support, which represents all Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen serving their country.
So many memorial and respect days have morphed into dates to party, long weekends and excuses for time off work. Veteran's Day should be respected for what it is, a day to honor those that toiled, and in many cases were injured or died in the service of our country.
Respect them, salute them, honor them.
